Assignment 2 Progress

Hello there~

Is been a long time since I had not updated my blog (Sorry Guys~) but here I am, bringing my second assignment progress to you guys~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(Line of Show Off)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the St Paul's Church that I managed to model. I plan to do mapping after I finished all of my modelling part.
I shall show you guys my second model in the first place, but I encountered some problems as I am doing it right now.
The problem is, during the halfway of producing it, I try to copy one of the box and it show that I am copying it when I am moving it with Shift key, but when the moment when I paste it, it disappear!
Yes, literally disappear, even I copying other shapes. I tried to restart 3Ds Max, problems still there. I go online search for other solution and try them out but yet still not working. Do you guys have any ideas why is this happened?
Three-point Lighting
Hey guys, I am back with some more information for you guys!!!
Today I will talk about three-point lighting.
So, what is three-point lighting?
Three point lighting is a method that used widely in film, video, photographic, computer-generated graphic and games industry. Using three separate light sources, the user can control how the image was present, by controlling reflection, shading and shadows with position of three-point light sources.
The key light is the main light source of object, which mean, it control the overall lighting design (color, angle, strength).
Fill light also shine upon object, but it is more softer, weaker, lower and shine from side angle relative to key light. It is used to eliminate contrast effect that cause by shadows from key light.
Back light shine the subject from behind. Usually, it is used to separate object with the background or highlighting the subject.
By the way, I am starting to do my assignment 2, which is........ we gonna model some historical buildings in Malaysia~~~~~~
I choose to model historical buildings in Melaka. Why? Because I like Melaka.xD I like the way of these buildings survive, I like the things that looks like it was hiding a lot of "story".
These are five buildings that I plan to do
1. St Paul's Church
2. St Peter's Church
3. Christ Church Melaka
4. Melaka City Council
5. A Famosa
Of course, later I will show off my work in here... If I managed to finish it... But, I hope I can do my best and finish this in a nice way...
What is your favorite historical building among these 5 buildings?
Non-photorealistic rendering and Journey to my Game Design Life
Non-photorealistic rendering is a kind of rendering technology that render digital art in a wide variety of expressive style.
Different from normal and traditional rendering technique, which is in photorealistic way, this kind of Non-photorealistic rendering are use to rendering digital art in artistic styles such as sketching, painting, drawing, technical illusion and cartoon.
This kind of technique are widely  use in movies and games industry for a "Toon Shading" feeling.
I think this is one of greater invention for human beings. I love this kind of effect. I think toon shading were gorgeous and hope that I can try it out on my 3D Animation classes and I will post the result of my work in NPR in this blogger.
On the left-hand side, normal shader was applied and NPR (cel-shading) on the right-hand side.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~#Bonus: Why I choose Game Design?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am a Game design student...I still need to learn to said this sentence out loud. In here, Malaysia, many of elders seems to have stereotype that people who play games, especially video games are useless. But for me, that is not true...

I am a guy who loves to play video games, the first video game that I played was X-men VS Street Fighter on Playstation 1.

This is what a PS1 look like, sometimes the machine can make louder noise than the games itself.

My first time~( Hadokennnnnn!!!)

From there, I started to know what is video games. During that time I was only 5 years old. Although I always lost(5 years old being bullied by an adult~xD), but I still having fun with it. Not that this game affects me a a lot, but this game open a path for me toward Video Games World.

Later, I have my GameBoy Advanced. I played some of good title on GameBoy but the most memorable one was of course, Pokemon games. That series were the first time that I learn to appreciate games. I think that was one of the important aspect for games designer, always appreciate games that you play. So, thank you Pokemon~~~

But the important twist is the time that first time I put my fingers on Playstation 2. I remember first time seeing and playing PS2 was at my friend's---Jun Han's house. We are playing Shin Sangoku Musou 5.

In memories of : Minions...

During that time, I only realized how fun to play games with friends and I was amazed by the game's graphic, gameplay, sound effect and even the vibration of controllers. I was amazed by these technologies, everything feel new and fresh to me and I was like:

Because of that, I got myself a PS2 and I played many good titles on this platform. These memories...

After playing so many games, I was thinking, these games gave me so many happiness. Since I want to be a person that brings happiness, why not involve in games industry and be a part of it?

So, I am here right now, in UTAR studying Game Design course.Preparing myself to make fun and inspirational games. Hopefully I can achieve my dreams in future so that you guys can have more fun games to play with.xD
